If you have multiple QuickBooks users you may wish to switch between them in Flash Reports. However, if you log out of Flash Reports and then log in again, you will notice that the QuickBooks login page is not displayed. This is because the QuickBooks session has not ended, and while Flash Reports does navigate to the login page, it is simply bypassed as QuickBooks confirms that it's session is still active.
We have raised this issue with QuickBooks, and they have confirmed that they do not provide a way to log out of their session. We have requested that they add this as a feature request so that in future we are able to log out of the QuickBooks session when you log out of Flash Reports.
Log Out Process
The only reliable way to log in with a different QuickBooks user is to log out of Flash Reports and then quit Excel and start a new Excel session. This process on restarting Excel ends the QuickBooks session and you will be presented with the QuickBooks login screen at the next Flash Reports login.
Work Around Option
There is one workaround that can help if you would prefer to not restart Excel in order to log in with a different QuickBooks user. However this process only works in the following situation:
- The current QuickBooks user has access to more than one company.
- Your current user has an active Flash Reports subscription and is not a "Shared Use" user.
- On the Flash Reports menu select "Company Connections"
- Click the "Connect to QuickBooks" button (This will be disabled if you user has a Shared Use subscription only).
- The screen below will display (This screen will not show if the user only has access to one company).
- Click the "Not You?" link. This will log you out of the QuickBooks session and display a screen to select a user. Close this window using the x in the top right hand corner of the window.
- On the Flash Reports menu select "Logout".
- Then click "Login", a new session will begin and QuickBooks will prompt you to select a user to log in with.
