Refreshable Report Worksheets
Why is my report not in the list of Refreshable Report Worksheets?
In order for the Refresh Reporting Pack process to be able to re-execute a report it must comply with the following:
- Reports created on a version of Flash Reports older than 3.7, before the Refresh Reporting Pack functionality was added, will never be refreshable.
- The QuickStart reports are not refreshable. Use the "Standard" report menu to create a refreshable version of these reports like a Profit And Loss.
- The worksheet must be one of the supported reports or templates created from the Import/Build Report menu. The supported reports are those that create rows or columns containing detailed accounts or dimension values from a QuickBooks company e.g. "Profit And Loss By Month". These reports benefit from the refresh process as it will ensure that they include any new accounts or other applicable dimension values that were added since the Reporting Pack was refreshed previously.
- Reports that are only based on the special Flash Total values e.g. the "Profit and Loss 12 Months - Summary", have no need to be refreshed as this issue of adding new accounts or dimension values would not be applicable for these reports.
- The correct process to generate a refreshable report is to create a new report inside the Reporting Pack workbook using the Import/Build Report menu. It is possible to move a report worksheet created in another Excel workbook into the Reporting Pack workbook but this is not the recommended process.
- Drilldown worksheets do not create a refreshable report. Create a new General Ledger report if you require a refreshable transaction detail report.
- For a worksheet that contains a list of dimension values, you must have created the list using the Import List functionality in Flash and the worksheet should contain only one list.
